Keiichi awakens the next morning, only to find out that his hand is still stuck to Belldandy’s. She wakes up shortly afterward, only to be surprised to see their hands stuck together, since she was so drunk the night before, she doesn’t remember granting the wish. Things turn even worse when Skuld arrives, and she is not happy with this arrangement of her sister being permanently stuck to him. The resulting yelling from Skuld brings Urd, who is surprised to see Belldandy’s spell is still in effect. (She thought it would have worn off when she sobered up.)

To try to fix the situation, she sprays a mysterious concoction on their joined hands. To their surprise, both Keiichi and Belldandy can now free their hands. However, it turns out the spray Urd just used was a virus program meant to crash Belldandy’s spell program that she placed on their hands. Skuld notices that their other hands are now joined together, and when she tries to separate them, it is discovered that they are now stuck together by their other hands instead. With Urd’s plan a bust, Skuld offers to try her newest invention, but Keiichi has had it with being a guinea pig for the Goddesses’ experiments.

The day goes on, and Keiichi is met with various challenges in his new predicament, such as trying to use the bathroom now that Belldandy is stuck to him. But then, the ultimate challenge surfaces. It seems that everyday, Goddesses have to perform an “ablution”, meaning the act of cleansing oneself with water in connection with religious duties. In other words, Belldandy needs to bathe with Keiichi present…

Belldandy steps into the bath with Keiichi seated nearby, a blindfold over his eyes (at the insistence of Skuld). He sits there, trying to keep his thoughts pure, and not think of Belldandy naked just a few short steps away from him, but then, the blindfold begins to slide down his face. Before he can enjoy the sight of the naked Goddess before him, Skuld arrives, as if on cue, and knocks poor Keiichi unconscious with her hammer.

This sends Keiichi into a bizarre dream where he is at a chapel being married to Belldandy, with Tamiya acting as the priest who presides over the ceremony. Once the vows are exchanged, Tamiya asks that the “collar” be presented. Keiichi assumes he means “ring”, but then "Belldandy" lifts her veil to reveal herself to be Chihiro, who promptly locks a dog collar around Keiichi’s neck. Just then, the real Belldandy appears before him, stating that now he is married to Chihiro, he does not need her anymore, and will return to Heaven. Keiichi starts to run off after her, when the ground shakes, and the giant Hasegawa rises up out of the ground, seeking revenge for the magic spell that made her huge…

Keiichi finally awakens from this bizarre dream to find Belldandy sitting beside him. Thinking back on his nightmare, he remembers the giant Hasegawa, and realizes that if his hand is still stuck to Belldandy’s, then perhaps Hasegawa is still a giant back at the party. Keiichi and Belldandy take a train to the Whirlwind bike shop to check on her. Belldandy blames herself for everything, but Keiichi states he was worried about how now things are changing in his life (his new job), he won’t be able to see Belldandy as much as he used to, so that is why he wished to never let go of her hand. Belldandy, however, assures him that everything will work out.

When they finally arrive at Whirlwind, they find everyone still inside, sleeping off their drinking binges from the party the night before. And to Keiichi’s great relief, Hasegawa has returned to normal overnight. One by one, the guests wake up, and silently file out of the store. Chihiro tries to talk the leaving party guests into signing up for jobs at the store, but they are all gone before she can finish her deal. When she sees Belldandy standing at Keiichi’s side, she takes the opportunity to spring the question on her, and the Goddess is now an official employee of Whirlwind. Just then, Keiichi and Belldandy’s hands are finally separated. They celebrate over their freedom before a confused Chihiro.

Later that day, Keiichi and Belldandy are cleaning up the mess from the party. Belldandy states that she does not want them to be apart either, and now that she is working at Whirlwind as well, they will never have to worry. Of course, when they come home, they find Urd and Skuld disappointed that Keiichi and Belldandy got unstuck on their own, since they didn’t get to try out their new ideas to separate their hands. (Urd had a new potion, and Skuld had a chainsaw.)
