Volume 11 Chapter 67 - Are You Being Served?

Since her arrival at the Morisato house, the Goddess Peorth has gone out of her way to grant Keiichi’s deepest and most secret desire. Unfortunately, all of her efforts to do this so far have resulted in nothing but agony for him. A new day has begun, and as Peorth makes her way down the hall, with most likely a new plan to win over Keiichi’s favor in her head, Urd stops her. She reminds Peorth of what she told her the other day, about how Keiichi’s feelings for Belldandy are too strong for Peorth to tamper with, but the determined Goddess does not falter in her desire to accomplish her mission. She accuses Urd of not understanding her plight, seeing that she is a Goddess First Class, while Urd is only a Second Class. This comment triggers the competitive spirit within Urd, and it seems Skuld (who was listening nearby) is also affected by her words. It would appear a challenge is about to take place between the three Goddesses…

Meanwhile, Keiichi and Belldandy sit together, enjoying breakfast, unaware of the chaos that is brewing in the hall outside. The peaceful moment is interrupted by the arrival of the three feuding Goddesses. Urd, Skuld, and Peorth have declared a contest to prove who is the most helpful Goddess of all. With Keiichi acting as the sole judge (not without his consent, of course), the three Goddesses will prove amongst them who has the ability to make Keiichi the happiest, and who can best fulfill his desires. Belldandy tries to get the three to stop, as Keiichi has not agreed to this, but it seems that the Goddesses’ minds are made up.

Trying to escape from this bad situation, Keiichi mentions that he needs to get to class. Peorth, Urd, and Skuld all use their individual magical methods of teleporting Keiichi instantly to school, sending our poor hero away in a gust of wind before he even has a chance to object. As soon as he’s gone, the three competing Goddesses rush off to the Nekomi Tech campus, so they can continue their “battle”. As soon as they’re all gone, Belldandy, worried about what’s happened to Keiichi, steps outside and uses her ability to communicate with animals to ask the birds in the sky to seek out Keiichi, and see if he’s all right. The birds scour the city, only to find their man seated upon the very top of the fountain statue that’s in the middle of the main campus. It seems that the teleportation spell that all three of the Goddesses summoned didn’t exactly land him in the most appropriate spot…

A little while later, after finally getting down from the statue, Keiichi and Belldandy sit together on a bench, as he laments over his situation. Keiichi thanks her for coming to find him, and states that he feels she’s done so much for him over the years, yet he can never properly pay her back. Belldandy insists this is not so, and that she is happy to just be there for him when he needs her. Just then, Keiichi remembers he left something he needs for a class at home on his desk. Unknown to him, Peorth, Urd, and Skuld are listening to him from behind the bushes nearby. When they hear where Keiichi had left what he needed, they use their magic to summon the item from home, and have it appear on his lap. Unfortunately, their power brings not only what he needs, but also everything else that was on top of his desk, sending the entire lot crashing down in a large pile next to him. Belldandy knows that this is the work of Peorth and her sisters, and decides she will personally send everything that Keiichi doesn’t need back home, and will catch up with him later that day.

After returning everything to its rightful place, Belldandy rejoins Keiichi back at school. He’s in class, but it seems he’s having problems with the school’s printer. Once again, Peorth, Urd, and Skuld are lying in wait. As soon as they hear of his woes, they all use their magic to get the printer working again. Unfortunately, it goes out of control, spilling paper out everywhere. Only when Belldandy pulls the plug on the printer do things return to normal.

Later that day, Keiichi has finally printed his report, and is seated on a bench next to Belldandy. As he breathes a sigh of relief that things turned out okay, a young woman happens to pass by, and a very convenient breeze happens to blow her skirt up a little. This catches our hero’s attention, though he’s a bit ashamed to admit it. The three “helpful” Goddesses are once again lying in wait nearby, and as soon as they see Keiichi’s reaction to the “panty shot”, they use their power to summon a mighty wind, causing all of the women nearby to put on their own personal “show” for Keiichi. The poor guy is so dumbstruck by his sudden luck that he doesn’t even realize that the strong wind blows his school report right out of his hands. Belldandy tries to use her powers to calm the wind, and bring his report back.

When Urd and Skuld see this, they decide to secretly join in, and use their own magic as well. Peorth tries to warn them not to let their spells overlap with Belldandy’s but it’s too late. The three powerful spells merging all at once causes Belldandy to fall into unconsciousness, and chaos to spread throughout the campus. It’s up to Peorth to summon her own spell to cancel out the overlapping magic, and return everything to normal. Her work done, and Keiichi’s project saved, Peorth turns only to find Keiichi holding the weakened Belldandy in his arms. Despite her best intentions, it seems that Keiichi’s heart still belongs to her rival…

That night, while Urd and Skuld argue over whose fault today’s chaos was, Peorth is still trying to figure out why Keiichi seems to not even notice her when she tries her hardest to win his favor. As she steps outside the room, she finds a note and a single flower lying on the ground. It’s from Keiichi, and thanks her for her help today. The Goddess does not understand the feelings she has seeing this, and is even more interested in Keiichi than before.
