Megumi has come by to eat again, a fact which bothers Keiichi despite the fact that she pays money to help with the grocery bill. Keiichi wants to be alone with Belldandy and try to move their romance forward. While he ponders this, Megumi ends up eating all of his food as well as her own. Before Keiichi can get to upset over this, Belldandy offers to cook some more and goes into the kitchen.

Megumi asks Keiichi if he's even kissed Belldandy. Keiichi says yes but plays like he can't remember. Megumi drops the subject, but casually remarks that tomorrow would be an excellent day to hit the ocean. As Megumi leaves, she tells Belldandy to pack a picnic lunch because she thinks that Keiichi will take her someplace special. Keiichi spends the night studying his guidebook on dating while Belldandy sleeps peacefully.

The next day, Keiichi and Belldandy arrive at the beach. Belldandy is enjoying the smell of the ocean which makes Keiichi wonder why he hadn't taken her here before. He recalls what the dating book instructed to do as he begins to put his arm around her but panics when she calls his name and asks if he wants some ice cream. She pays for the cones with the extra money she got from the modeling job (see chapter 10) since she wanted to do something special with Keiichi with it.

After roller-skating, the couple decide to take a sight-seeing boat ride. Keiichi manages to put his arm around Belldandy, but suddenly a seagull lands on his head. He doesn't appreciate the gulls but Belldandy loves the gulls on her. Keiichi gets very seasick, so when they get back to shore, Belldandy has him lay his head on her lap and softly sings him to sleep.

Several hours later when it is dark, he awakens and sees that they missed their dinner reservations. Belldandy has brought one of her delicious lunches though and Keiichi eagerly starts eating. He starts to choke and while attempting to dislodge the food, he slips on a soda can and falls over a rail toward the ocean. Belldandy immediately casts a spell which halts his fall and causes him to float into her arms as her clothes change to her goddess attire. Flowers appear everywhere and the couple kiss.
