Keiichi and Belldandy are walking on the Nekomi Tech campus when Keiichi remembers he’s left his lab report at home. Belldandy says she’ll go get it and before he can stop her, she has already disappeared. So, Keiichi sits on a bench while he awaits Belldandy’s return. Soon, people who pass by him begin to ask him if he and Belldandy are no longer a couple. So many people do this that Keiichi begins to ponder their relationship. Before he can consider this further, Belldandy returns with a several large textbooks, papers, and other school stuff because she didn't know what exactly Keiichi wanted.

Later when the couple has returned home, Keiichi finds and consults his book on dating. He hopes that maybe he and Belldandy will get to kiss and attempts to find appropriate mood music. Finding what he thinks is a good tape of romantic music, he puts it into his walkman and brings it to the dinner table. It is then that he discovers the flaw in his plan – no speakers so that they can listen to the music together.

Deciding not to let this stop him from getting romantic with Belldandy, Keiichi attempts to find out where things stand between them since they've been living together for months now. He is flustered and nervous as he speaks and Belldandy notices that his pulse is up, his blood pressure is up, and that he has a 101 degree fever. She mistakes these signs as symptoms of an illness and immediately drags Keiichi to bed. Despite his protests, Belldandy casts a Yggdrasil-code speech spell on Keiichi to put him into a restful sleep. Once asleep, Belldandy kisses him softly on the cheek.
