Keiichi begins to set up a tent so that he and Belldandy
have a place to pass the remainder of the night. As
Belldandy watches, she realizes that it is going to
rain while Keiichi realizes he has only one sleeping
bag. He imagines sharing the sleeping bag with her when
the rain starts coming down. To make matters worse,
Belldandy has fallen into a deep sleep due to her role
in granting Keiichi's wish combined with her other power
usage.
The
tent is full of holes, so Keiichi gets back on the bike,
puts Belldandy in the sidecar, and pulls the cover over
it. As he races through the night desperately looking
for a place to crash out of the rain, he comes across
an old temple. He takes Belldandy inside and falls asleep
on the floor with her.
The
next morning, Belldandy awakens first wondering where
she is. Keiichi awakens moments later and she gives
him a cheery morning greeting. Keiichi is shocked to
find that he and Belldandy spent the night together
in the same futon and screams. The temple priest comes
in (looking a lot like Mr. Clean) assuming Belldandy
screamed and begins to carry Keiichi away thinking he'd
made a mistake in assuming the pair to be lovers. Belldandy
assures the priest that she didn't scream and that everything
was OK.
At
breakfast, the priest remarks that Belldandy appears
to be a foreigner and he wonders what she is doing in
Japan. She starts to tell him that she's there because
of Keiichi's wish but Keiichi prevents her from revealing
that she's a goddess. He tells the priest they are there
for sight seeing.
Later
on the temple grounds, Keiichi and Belldandy do chores
together. Keiichi tells Belldandy that she can't go
around telling people she's a goddess. She replies that
she can't tell a lie and doesn't feel anything negative
about the temple and that she feels it is OK for them
to be there.
Keiichi,
who's on the roof making repairs, slips and begins to
fall off. Belldandy casts a spell and stops him at the
roofs edge. She then leaps up onto the roof to make
sure he's OK. Keiichi assures her he's fine except for
a scraped elbow. Belldandy has the cure for that as
she plants a very long kiss on the elbow which Keiichi
enjoys. This causes the elbow to heal immediately much
to Keiichi's surprise.
The
priest sees the couple on the roof and wonders if he
imagined seeing Belldandy jump from the ground to the
roof. He fears that maybe Belldandy is a demon in female
form and is determined to discover the truth since her
true form should appear at night. He falls asleep outside
their door and when Belldandy awakes before dawn, she
kindly covers the priest in a blanket.
The
priest awakens after daylight and begins to look for
Belldandy. He finds her sitting on a rock, surrounded
by small birds, and with a joyous look on her face as
she tells them all good morning. He is further surprised
when he discovers she's already made breakfast and it
is the best he's ever had. The priest then sees that
the shrine in the temple has been polished brilliantly.
It is then that he realizes that she's no demon .
The
trio have breakfast together. Afterward, the priest
has Belldandy and Keiichi meditate as if to train. Keiichi
isn't thrilled about it and gets a smack from the priest
who says Belldandy's meditation is perfect.
The
next day, the priest is gone but he's left them a note
saying he's gone to India to continue to study but that
the couple can use the temple as they see fit.
