If
Urd is the love goddess, bent on bringing Belldandy
and Keiichi closer together, then Skuld is the opposite.
Skuld has always been closer to Belldandy and always
looks up to her. Unfortunately for Keiichi, she is much
too protective of Bell. She interprets Keiichi's mostly
innocous attempts to get closer to Bell as threats,
and intervenes - mostly scolding and shouting "pervert,"
although she has been known to give a good whack with
her hammer.
Skuld's
development is interesting in the sense that it provides
us with something the others cannot provide - a glimpse
of how a goddess grows. Unlike the other (adult) goddesses,
Skuld's developmental milestones are more easily discerned
in actual chapters. The first signifcant one is probably
Chapter 51 (You're So Bad), where we see a completely
different Skuld: moody, staring off into space, and
of all things, apparently in love with Keiichi. As it
turned out, she was only experiencing these mood swings
as a result of the growth of her powers.
