POWERS

Like Mara, Welsper is a first class demon. From the few incidents where Welsper used his powers, it can be surmised that Welsper possesses significant strength and skill. Unlike Mara who avoids open combat and prefers intermediaries, Welsper does not appear to have qualms with facing goddesses directly.

Welsper's weakness is direct exposure to water, though he can create chaff to shield him.

Flight

Although the ability to fly is a common power among both goddesses and demons, Welsper is exceptionally fast. The only time that Peorth lost to anyone by speed was to Welsper. [094]

Chaff

Welsper's weakness is exposure to water. Keiichi figured this out and tried to douse him with buckets of water, however according to Welsper the water only melted away his chaff. [097]

Whirlwind Attack

Like Urd and her lightning bolts, Welsper's specific attack spell resembles a black whirlwind. Welsper tried to use it against Belldandy when they were still children but she created her own wind to counter and control Welsper's. Many years later, Welsper used this against Keiichi but Peorth dissipated it with her magic. [097]

Time Control

Welsper for a short while had control over time since he hacked into Yggrasil's time subsystem. He turned back Peorth's time until she was a child and attempted to do the same on Keiichi. Note however that the outcomes would have been different. Goddesses are eternal beings and cannot be erased from existence by turning back time. However the same is not true of mortals and Keiichi would have disappeared had the attack hit him.

Cat Laser

One of Welsper's remaining powers, this beam attack originates from his cross-shaped forehead marking. [141]
